The Plan of Salvation

The Role of Sin

We are ALL sinners, no one is perfect save for Jesus Christ. These verses highlights the universal need for salvation because everyone has deviated from God's perfect standard. Romans 3:23 teaches us that we are all sinners by nature and by choice; none of us are good. We may think that we are better than others or lead a more moral life than other people, but this is not true. There is not one person living on this earth right now who can say they have never done something wrong, whether it be stealing, lying, or even cheating.

Romans 3:10 & 11  "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God."

Romans 3:23  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

The Ruin of Sin

The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death! Death is separation from both physical and spiritual life.  It is the price we pay for not accepting His free gift.

Romans 5:12
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

Romans 6:23 KJV
"For the wages of sin is death; BUT . . . "

The Remedy from Sin

BUT God had a plan, he prepared knowing that Eve would be deceived and Adam would sin! He loved us enough to make a way, Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price. It is the free gift of the cross. These verses emphasizes that free and unearned love of God, who sent Jesus to atone for our sins while we were still in a state of rebellion. He suffered a horrible death on the cross of Calvary willingly for us, you and I.

Romans 6:23 KJV. . . ."BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 5:8 KJV
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

The Result of Redemption

Here is the plan, the way, the gift! it is so easy a child can do it! I know you have heart the saying "It's so easy a child can do it". As a matter of fact children believe easier than we adults do.

So here are the steps for receiving salvation: from your heart to God’s heart,

  • confess you are a sinner and Jesus as Lord,
  • believing in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  • and ask God to save you.

Romans 10:9-11, 13 KJV
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
